THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE CONGOLESE DEBT MANAGEMENT REFORM PLAN AT THE CENTER OF BILATERAL DISCUSSIONS

Monday May 13, 2024, in the meeting room of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, in Brazzaville, Mr. Jean-Baptiste ONDAYE, the leader of the said ministry, spoke with a delegation from the World Bank, led by Mr. Luc RAZAFIMANDIMBY, principal economist in charge of debt management issues for Congo.

During this meeting, in which the advisors of Minister Jean-Baptiste ONDAYE and those of his colleague Ludovic NGATSE, Minister of Budget, Public Accounts and Public Portfolio took part, discussions focused on the implementation of the Plan reform of the management of the internal and external public debt of the Republic of Congo.

At the end of its mission, the World Bank delegation undertook to develop a Roadmap to submit to the Congolese authorities. She also committed to financing the organization of a workshop, in order to popularize this Roadmap among Congo's development partners.

This World Bank mission also proposed the organization of a government seminar on Congo's debt. Minister Jean-Baptiste ONDAYE indicated his agreement in principle.
