GABAC supports Congo with a public outreach seminar against money laundering

Henri Loundou, director of cabinet, representing Calixte Nganongo, Minister of Finance and Budget, opened, Wednesday 31 July 2019 in Brazzaville, a seminar on the popularisation of Regulation N0.1 CEMAC (Central Africa Economic and Monetary Community) of 11 April 2016, on the prevention and suppression of money laundering, terrorist financing and the proliferation of weapons in the sub-region.

Press conference of the Prime Minister, Head of Government

Before the national and international press, the Prime Minister, Head of Government, Clément Mouamba, held, Thursday 18 July 2019 in Brazzaville, a press conference in the auditorium of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Congolese Diaspora. The Extended Credit Facility (ECF) Agreement between Congo and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), signed in Washington DC (USA) on 11 July, was the focus of this exchange.

Congo-IMF talks continue

Led by Alex Segura-Ubiergo, an IMF mission arrived in Brazzaville since Sunday 5 November 2018. Supported by a representative of the World Bank, it is part of the continuation of negotiations started in 2017 between the Bretton Woods institution and the Republic of Congo, whose file is awaited at the next IMF executive Board in Washington, which will decide on the conclusion of a financing three-year programme agreement aimed at boosting Congo's macroeconomic equilibrium.

On Wednesday 29 August 2018, the Minister of Planning, Statistics and Regional Integration, Ingrid Olga Ghislaine Ebouka-Babackas, representing the Minister of Finance and Budget, Calixte Nganongo, presided over the handover ceremony between Emmanuel Akouala-Mpan, outgoing Director of Cabinet, and Henri Loundou, incoming Director of Cabinet, in the conference room of the Ministry of Finance, in Brazzaville, Republic of Congo, in the presence of the Advisers and Directors General under tutelage.

The Committee held  its ordinary meeting  on July 12, 2018 in Brazzaville, under the chairmanship of honourable Calixte Nganongo, Minister of Finance and Budget.  The meeting was also attended by  Mrs. ingrid  Olga Ghislaine Eboucka- Babackas, Congolese Minister of planning, statistics and regional integration, Abbas Mahamat Tolli , Gouvernor of the Central African States Bank  and  Michel Dzombala,  national director  of  the Central African States Bank.

CREDIT COUNCIL OF CONGO- The support of development stakeholders is expected

NAFI (National Financial Intelligence Unit)- Opening of a workshop on national assessment risks about money laundering- Brazzaville

A workshop is going to be held in Brazzaville from Wednesday 16-Friday 18, May 2018. It will be about a national assessment of the risks of money laundering  and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and organized with the technical assistance of the World  Bank.
