The Directorate General of Public Portfolio, under the authority of its Director General, is the technical organ that assists the Minister in the discharge of his duties on issues relating to the financial supervisory authority of public institutions and enterprises, public portfolio, as well as decision making and transfer of State participations.

Organisation

The Directorate General of Public Portfolio is made of five specific directorates:

  • The Directorate of development strategies for public institutions and enterprises of public portfolio;

  • The Directorate of participation;

  • The Directorate of control of public institutions and enterprises of public portfolio;

  • The Directorate of administrative and financial affairs ;

  • The Directorate of service control.

Each structure relies on daily logistic support:

  • From the executive secretariat, charged with the management of correspondence, data processing and reprography and treatment of other administrative documents;

  • From the computer service which defines computer needs, organises technical resources on computerised sites and manages the exploitation, maintenance and assistance of applications.

Areas of competence

The Directorate General of Public Portfolio is specifically charged with:

  • Handling registers of public institutions and enterprises of public portfolio, updating the management data base and producing annual reports on the situation of public portfolio;

  • Controlling the application, by public institutions and enterprises of public portfolio, of prescribed management rules;

  • Following up procedures for creation of public institutions and enterprises of public portfolio.
