National Solidarity Fund for the Fight against COVID-19

Ludovic Ngatsé received 95 million in cash donations

The Minister delegate to the Minister of Finance and Budget, in charge of  Budget, Ludovic Ngatsé, successively received, Thursday 23 April 2020 in Brazzaville, cash donations of 50 million F CFA from the Professional Association of Insurance Companies of Congo (APSACO) ; 25 million F CFA from the mauritanian community of Brazzaville and 20 million F CFA from the SCAB company, for a total of 95 million F CFA to effectively fight against the spread of coronavirus in Congo.

The cheques were received in the hall of the said Ministry. ‘I would like to thank the professionals in the Insurance industry for this commendable support, for this outpouring of solidarity by the President of the Republic, Denis Sassou-N’Guesso, to face this pandemic. My thanks also go to the mauritanian community and SCAB company for the gesture made to the Government and the Congolese people to fight against the pandemic.’, the Minister in charge of Budget said.

 ‘We have raised 100 million FCFA, which we split into two, that is 50 million FCFA paid in cash and another 50 million in kind, which will be received by the Minister of Social Affairs and Humanitarian Action‘, Raymond Ibata, president of l’APSACO said.

It should be noted that the beneficiairy of the cheques is the National Solidarity Fund for the fight against Coronavirus, and is included in the amending finance law for a total envelope of 125 billion FCFA, including 25 billion FCFA in guarantees and cash-based endorsements. It will be used to finance active support measures, distressed households and cash-strapped businesses, as part of their commitments to the banking and financial system.
