07 Jan, 2019

The Moore Stephens IFI firm, EITI-Congo independent administrator, represented by Elyes Kooli, is working to prepare the Reports covering the 2016 and 2017 periods. The first results of reconciliation were presented on Monday, January 7, 2019, in the meeting room of EITI-Congo, in front of the members of the Executive committee.

The independent administrator in charge of preparing EITI-Congo Reports, covering the 2016 and 2017 income, in the hydrocarbons, mining and forestry sectors, intends to publish the first Report on 22 Feveruary, and the second in June 2019.

The works of the administrator consist in collecting data, checking the payments declared and paid to the State by extractive companies registered in Congo, and the payments declared by companies, and actually received by the State. “The preparation of these reports will be in line with International practices based on International Standard on Related Services (ISRS) and the standard for financial reporting missions”, Elyes Kooli said.

We are the committee that validates on behalf of the Republic of Congo. The principle is that this committee should have a multiparty membership, comprising representatives of the administrations, representatives of the administrations making the declaration, representatives of the companies and representatives of the civil society participating in the reconciliation exercise. Our mission is to give the discharge, which also participates in the reconciliation exercise”, the vice-president of EITI-Congo Executive committee, Christian Mounzéo, explained.
