“The four days of meetings allowed us to prepare additional technical sheets for 6 priority integrative projects (PIP) of the 2nd cycle; to examine the state of implementation of the 2 remaining 1st cycle Projects; and to refine the financial arrangements for 5 second cycle projects”.

Thus expressed, Friday March 8, 2024, in Brazzaville (Republic of Congo), the Monetary Authority of this country and President of the Steering Committee (COPIL) of the Economic and Financial Reform Program of the Economic and Monetary Community of the Central Africa (PREF-CEMAC), Mr. Jean-Baptiste ONDAYE.

It was on the occasion of the closing of the work of the 8th meeting of the Technical Committee for monitoring the mobilization of financing and the implementation of the 13 Priority Integrative Projects (PIP) of PREF-CEMAC, counting for the 2nd cycle , and adopted at the Paris Round Table on November 28 and 29, 2023.

Considering the harvest obtained at the end of the Brazzaville meetings, the President of the PREF-CEMAC COPIL said he was satisfied with the quality of the work produced.

“This work truly lived up to the requirements expressed on Tuesday March 4, 2024 at the opening, namely: taking stock of funding; adopt the modalities for implementing PIPs; and proceed with the designation of leaders for each of the 13 PIPs. I am delighted that this meeting made it possible to reinforce the assurances of the financing mobilized by the CEMAC countries, the final amount of which today amounts to 9.85 billion Euros. I remain convinced that the materialization of all the financing for these new Projects, and the speed in their disbursement will make it possible to provide a response adapted to the problem of Sustainable Development (SD), growth, integration, and expectations of the populations of the CEMAC sub-region,” said the speaker.
