Opening of the 7th Edition of the National Tax Legislature Conference

The Director General of Taxation and State Property (DGID), Ludovic Itoua, has shown the “will of his Administration to build the foundations of a participatory, close and equitable tax system. In such a system, he said, everyone must pay the tax according to their ability to contribute”. This statement was made on the occasion of the relaunch of the National Tax Legislature Conference (NTLC), the 7thedition of which was opened, after several years of eclipse, Wednesday 21 August 2019 in Brazzaville, by Hilaire Mavoungou, Budget Advisor and Interim Director of Cabinet of Minister of Finance and Budget, Calixte Nganongo.

6th Ordinary Sessions of the National Assembly and the Senate

The Prime Minister, Head of Government, Clément Mouamba, took note of the recommendations made by the members of the Parliament following the Budget Orientation Debate (BOD) 2020-2022. This commitment was made during the two plenary sessions on Monday 12 August 2019, held on the eve of the closing of the 6thordinary sessions of the two Houses of Parliament, which opened on 2 June at the Palais des Congrès in Brazzaville.

Action Group Against Money Laundering in Central Africa (GABAC)

Calixte Nganongo, Congolese Minister of Finance and Budget, a statutory member of GABAC, opened Monday 5 August 2019 in the Congolese capital city, a seminar for pre-assessing the mechanism for the fight against money laundering and the financing of terrorism in Congo. On this occasion, he received the Technical Compliance Questionnaire from Etienne Tabi, Permanent Secretary of GABAC.

GABAC supports Congo with a public outreach seminar against money laundering

Henri Loundou, director of cabinet, representing Calixte Nganongo, Minister of Finance and Budget, opened, Wednesday 31 July 2019 in Brazzaville, a seminar on the popularisation of Regulation N0.1 CEMAC (Central Africa Economic and Monetary Community) of 11 April 2016, on the prevention and suppression of money laundering, terrorist financing and the proliferation of weapons in the sub-region.

Inauguration of three (3) Single Clearing Windows and three (3) Postal Bank Branches in Cabosse, Souanké and Ewo

Henri Loundou, director of cabinet, representing Calixte Nganongo, Minister of Finance and Budget, has officially launched the activities of three (3) single clearing windows (GUD) and supervised the inauguration of three (3) Postal Bank branches in Congo (BPC).  The ceremonies took place on Monday 29 in Cabosse and Souanké, in the Sangha division, and on Tuesday 30 July 2019 in Ewo, in the Cuvette-Ouest division.

Computer Timber Legality and Traceability Verification System (SIVL)

The members of the interministerial team in charge of the implementation of the technical control and deployment of the IT system for verification of the legality and traceability of timber in Congo-Brazzaville (SIVL), meeting in a worshop, from Thursday 25 to Saturday 27 July 2019 at the Kintelé International Conference Centre (north of Brazzaville), validated 6 documents and made for recommendations for the operationalisation of this reform.

Press conference of the Prime Minister, Head of Government

Before the national and international press, the Prime Minister, Head of Government, Clément Mouamba, held, Thursday 18 July 2019 in Brazzaville, a press conference in the auditorium of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Congolese Diaspora. The Extended Credit Facility (ECF) Agreement between Congo and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), signed in Washington DC (USA) on 11 July, was the focus of this exchange.

Communication from the Minister of Finance and Budget at the Council of Ministers Meeting

The Council of Ministers met on Wednesday 3 July 2019 in Brazzaville, under the authority of the President of the Republic, Denis Sassou-N'Guesso. Among the nine (9) items on the agenda were the two-part communication by the Minister of Finance and Budget, Calixte Nganongo. The first part dealt with the implementation of the State budget, 2019 financial year, as of 31 March. The second component concerns the protection of the Medium-Term Budget Framework (CBMT) 2020-2022.
